“Conservative Revolution” is community of the thinkers who have approved a new ethic and political position. Representatives of this movement see necessity of new gestalt dominance, namely, gestalt of Worker (Arbeiter). “Worker” is not conduct of life, it is style: total gestalt.
The “whole” before had been thought in political aspect – as the state; now it seems as impersonal sociality, in which the tacit consent, “the sacrificial act of approval” reigns. In the fifties of the last century Junger still speaks about freedom from dictatorship, because total technical order of Worker’s gestalt dominance is based on the state.
Now this totality is social. According to the thought of “Conservative Revolution” representatives, it is necessary to decide on sovereignty in these conditions (but we must be ready to keep resistance against nigilistic devastation – Carl Schmitt). Open resistance is suppressed, but hidden resistance doesn’t bring results. There is remains the Junger’s way – “Forest Passage” (“Der Waldgang”). Martin Heidegger, Stefan George and George-Kreis, Junder and Gottfried Benn (Double Life) adhered to this position. However Junger’s position remains at Worker’s dominance totality.
Though he speaks about abundance, he accepts undoubted thesis of total impoverishment. The Partisan (Carl Schmitt) actively resists the dominating order; the “Forest Passage” ignores this order and acts contrary to it; the Anarch of the late Junger is free and sovereign. Even when Junger in his late works enters the figure of sovereign Anarch, he can’t reach the limit step of the planned way. It is reached by Benn, when he claims the “Double life”.
There follows demand to conduct double life: “If he keeps irrespective of the power, it doesn’t mean, that he refuses flatly to serve. As a rule, he doesn’t serve worse, than all others, – sometimes much better, if such game is pleasant to him. He just abstains from an oath, from an sacrifice, from an unconditional devotion. These are questions of metaphysical cleanliness”. “Not to be a dilettante in external”:
Benn was a good doctor and was engaged in medicine in scientific sense, Junger was a soldier, Heidegger was a professor. Contrary to the Junger, the great hasn’t become scanty. It isn’t subject to history, it’s over-historicall and may be characterized by eternity, not history.
